(Los Angeles) ESPN has ended Rachel Nichols’ show Leap, as well as removing the host from his NBA programming.
It’s a “mutual agreement that serves the best interests of all parties,” David Roberts, who was named president of the NBA’s programs last week, said in a statement. ”
Nichols wrote on Twitter, “I’ve been able to create a show and for five years I’ve been rubbing the shoulders of some of my dearest people, talking about one of my favorite things. Thank you forever to our wonderful producers and artistic team members.”

ESPN will have a new daily show dedicated to the NBA.
Nichols has been a favorite on ESPN since 2016, with “The Jump,” but also Near Field Interventions, in particular.
In July, Nichols was at the center of the controversy over remarks about Maria Taylor, a former co-star, who has since moved to NBC.
During the NBA Finals, ESPN cast Malika Andrews in the role that Nichols had.
