As of yesterday – Thursday November 12 – Sony PlayStation 5 Officially available in the United States. Both versions of the PS5 are now available: a digital version for only $ 400 and a model for $ 500 with Blu-ray. (If you have good broadband and don’t need optical discs – used games, Blu-ray movies, old PS4 games – we recommend you Go with $ 400.)
This might sound like good news, especially since Sony’s pre-order window in September left all but a few players frustrated by disrupted sites, poor connectivity, and almost instant selling. But our advice is not to raise your hopes. If you haven’t already pre-ordered a console, don’t expect to be able to enter Best Buy this coming Thursday and grab one off the shelf. The launch will be online only, And we expect limited stocks through the rest of the year.
On launch day, Walmart has publicly pledged that it will have online stock of up to 3 hours on launch day:
We still expect these products to sell out immediately, but shoppers at least know when to hit the refresh button.
Are you interested in spinning the roulette wheel? We’ve rounded up all the retailers below where you might land a console. Happy hunting.
